So you saw the word “Africa” and you saw the word “Hope” and you wondered, do those two words really go together? Isn’t that an oxymoron? Well, the answer is a resounding NO! There is hope in Africa, as long as people step up and are willing to fight for justice, peace, and an end to poverty. The solution isn’t easy, but everyone can play a part in this puzzle. This is where Africa Hope comes in. As a recent college graduate, I struggled with how to get people passionate and educated about issues happening in Africa. So this past summer I (Katie's Bio) started making my own Africa shirts. I was blown away with the questions and interest that people raised as a result of my shoddy homemade spray-paint shirts! So I thought “why not make a line of shirts that people can wear to raise interest and awareness about Africa?” So I did. Here they are. But to go even further, all the money from these shirts will be donated to the organization of your choice listed on this website. All the organizations deal with a specific issue in Africa. So not only are the shirts raising massive awareness, but they are also raising tangible funds to be used on the ground in Africa. Amazing! So, buy a shirt, choose an organization, wear that baby with pride, and start playing a part in the revolution to put Africa into the forefront of people’s minds all around the world! All shirts are priced at $20.00. While I realize this might be a bit more than you usually pay for a shirt (trust me, i've been a poor college student...and now i'm just a poor person...) ALL the money (besides the cost of the shirt and printing) will go toward the organization of your choice. This means that if you pay $20.00 for your shirt, about $10-15 dollars of that (depending on what shirt you buy) will go toward a specific cause in Africa. So, see this purchase as more of a donation!
